During America's "golden era," the top marginal federal income tax rate reached a peak of 91% in the 1950s,  but the top 1% of earners only paid an average effective rate of 42–45% after deductions and loopholes.  

This funded our infrastructure, built our highways, funded many of the governments social programs we enjoy, and helped our military members in a large variety of ways.

To be "woke" means to be aware of social injustices, particularly racial and social ones, with the term's origins in Black American culture. While it originally signified being vigilant about systemic oppression, its meaning has evolved and is now used both positively to describe social and political awareness, and negatively as a political term of abuse for perceived excessive progressivism. 

Authoritarianism, is the blind submission to authority and the repression of individual freedom of thought and action. 

These regimes suppress political opposition, undermine democratic institutions, and maintain control through a variety of methods, including limiting rights, spreading disinformation, and sometimes using fear and violence.
